Self-service electric scooter rental

Another solution we offer is the self-service rental of electric scooters. This form of self-service allows you to use the scooters without owning them. In Liege, this is done through the companies DOTT, PONY and TIER.

On the City of Liege website, you will find a map showing the location of all the scooters provided by these operators:

The university has also agreed that these operators can deploy their fleet (of scooters and self-service bicycles) on the Sart Tilman university campus. Initially, this service is only available in the northern part of the Sart Tilman campus (Village, Agora, Polytech and Urbanistes districts), but an extension to the entire campus is being studied in the near future. Cost of this service

As this service is offered by private operators and not by the university itself, this service is not free. It costs 1€ to unlock the scooter and between 0,15€ and 0,25€ per minute of use. For a regular use, it can become quite expensive. On the other hand, there are also "pass" formulas which are more affordable. You can, for example, take a 3 months pass which allows you to unlock the scooters in an unlimited way for only 1,99€ (only for the unlocking so the price per minute is maintained).

You will find the different rates on the website of these operators:

How it works

How does it work ? It is quite simple and the operation is more or less the same for all operators. Here are the steps to follow:

  • Download the operator's app on your smartphone (IOS or Android)
  • Create your account (you can do this when you first use a scooter)
  • Locate the nearest scooter (the application allows you to do this thanks to a geolocator)
  • Unlock the scooter by scanning its QR code or by manually entering its code on the app
  • Use the scooter
  • Once you have completed your journey, close your use via the application (you must park your scooter in one of the spaces provided for this purpose, it must not interfere with traffic or pedestrians on the sidewalks)

Please note that on the Sart Tilman site, parking is only allowed on the parking points defined by the University and that the bicycle parking points are different from the parking points reserved for scooters.

The scooter weighs 12-13 kg, supports 100 kg and has a range of 25 to 50 km depending on the level of charge.

The scooters are available every day from +/- 7 am to 10 pm.
