For staff members
Purchase bonus
If you use a bicycle for your business trips, Wallonia offers you a bonus for the purchase of a bicycle. The amount of this bonus is a maximum of 20%, 30% or 40% of the purchase price, with ceilings ranging from 50 euros to 1,250 euros, depending on the type of bicycle and the applicant's situation.
Conditions :
- Bonus available to any natural person aged 18 or over, or any emancipated minor, whose residence is located in the Walloon Region.
- Any type of bicycle included (new or used, with or without electric assistance).
- The bicycle must have been purchased between July 1, 2020 and December 31, 2024.
- You must use your bike for at least 40% of your commute to and from work or at least 40% of your job search trips.
Exception: In the case of a cargo bike, you are not required to use it for your commute to work or job search. However, daily use (driving your children to school, shopping, etc.) is required for this type of bike.
- Only one bonus can be granted per person but this bonus can be cumulated with other bonuses possibly provided by other levels of government.
Per-kilometre bonus
You can be reimbursed for your bicycle expenses at a rate of €0.25 (as of 01/01/2022) per kilometer.
Conditions:
- Bonus available to statutory and heritage members in the strict sense of the scientific, administrative, technical and worker staff. Reimbursement may be extended to scientific, administrative, technical and labour personnel by agreement or by external services, subject to the agreement of the person in charge of the OTP to which the reimbursement is charged.
- You must travel at least one kilometer.
- You must use your bicycle at least 10 working days during the calendar month.
- You may not combine this incentive with a transit pass reimbursement EXCEPT if you ride your bike to the transit stop.
