The Sustainable Campus Club is a student club promoting sustainability at ULiège. It aims to raise awareness among students about current environmental and social issues through awareness-raising materials and concrete projects. This club is open to students from all faculties. English speakers are warmly welcomed.

Mission of the Sustainable Campus Club

The members of the Club develop projects promoting sustainability on campuses and have set themselves the following missions:

  • Understanding the issues: Explaining why some practices are not good for the planet or society, and where are the problems.
  • Highlight good ideas: Show examples of projects or initiatives that are already working well, such as those launched at universities or by innovative companies.
  • Create useful solutions for students: Come up with and propose something concrete that students can use to take action.
  • Motivate students to change their habits: Encourage those who want to do better for the environment or society, and give them a helping hand.
  • See the results and share them: Measure what each project has achieved and talk about it to inspire even more people.

The Club in 2025–2026: members and ongoing projects

The Sustainable Campus Club was launched in September 2025. This academic year, it is made up of 36 students from different faculties, ranging from first-year to doctoral students. To structure the Club, four roles have been defined: president, vice president, treasurer, and secretary.

Students meet once a month and more frequently in sub-groups to work on projects.

As a student, simply fill out the form below to join the Club:

Here are the projects currently underway:

Posters to raise awareness about other living beings impacted by our waste

Three posters were created on the initiative of a student to raise awareness of the fact that our waste ends up in the habitats of other living species, but also on our plates.

Sustainable Food – Feeding Campus Festival in April 2026

A group of students are preparing an exhibition entitled "From Farm to Fork" to illustrate the sustainable vegetable supply chain for ULiège canteens, from producers to consumers.

Another group is preparing a "Coin Gourmand," a relaxation area that will be set up on the Toré esplanade in Sart Tilman, with a small shop proposing sustainable snacks.

See you at the Festival Nourrir les Campus from April 9 to 17, 2026 !

A well-supported Club

To implement their ideas and projects, students from the Sustainable Campus Club receive support from employees from the ULiège Green Office coordination team:

  • Use of the Green Office space (behind the  B7a building) for club meetings and group work sessions;
  • Advice on project management;
  • Obtaining the necessary authorizations (for organizing an event, using a venue, etc.);
  • Information on sustainability initiatives at ULiège and putting members in touch with key contacts;
  • logistical assistance (booking of rooms, equipment, printing, etc.);
  • provision of a budget.

In addition, the Green Office offers students various opportunities to get involved:

  • Occasional help during events organized by the Green Office (for some, through student paid hours, for others through volunteering).
    • For example, in 2025-2026, running a stand at Valentine's Day to raise awareness about unsustainable roses, helping to set up, serve, and tidy up the buffet at sustainable breakfasts, etc.
  • Specific tasks, paid via student paid hours.
    • For example, in 2025-2026, one student is working on organizing Master Classes as part of the Nourrir les Campus Festival, and two students are creating a welcome guide with sustainable practices for new students.
  • Networking events and training opportunities.
    • For example, two students participate in the SOS International Summit in March 2026, bringing together students from Green Offices and other youth organizations promoting sustainability from different countries.
  • Internships and master theses.

An international dimension

The Sustainable Campus Club is also a member of the International Association of French-speaking Student Leadership Clubs (AICLEF) , which brings together student clubs  from around 60 countries.

A great opportunity to share with students from different backgrounds!
