ULiège sponsorship
If you wish to benefit from an accompaniment during your first journeys by bicycle, it is possible with the ULiège sponsorship. What they propose more exactly, is a coaching by a voluntary and experienced cyclist for the beginner cyclist. This "coaching" is entirely free and takes place during the first 3 round trips. They organize themselves to find a cyclist who makes the same trip as you.
This sponsorship is a good solution if you have fears about cycling, if you don't know how to choose the best route to school or work, if you wonder what is the right equipment to have or any other question, your coach will be there to help you.
This sponsorship is open to all members of the university (staff, students and PhD students) as long as they already own a bike and know how to ride, but would like to benefit from some guidance during their first trips.

Bike test
If you are considering buying a bicycle, you should know that the cost of acquiring an electric bicycle is quite high.
For this reason, it is very important to choose your bike wisely. If you have any doubts about the model that would suit you best, several companies in Liege offer you the possibility to test bikes for free.
Pro Velo
Pro Velo offers you to test their electric, folding, cargo and longtail bikes. Pro Velo's testing offer also includes a personalized accompaniment and training to learn how to use the bike safely. Moreover, if the bike suits you, you are entitled to a discount on it after the test phase.

Test before buying
If you want to test a bike before taking a decision, Pro Velo offers tests of different types of bikes:

Minute test
The test is done at the Pro Velo Guillemins store every day in dry weather and free of charge !
Velocités
There is also the Vélocités, a project in collaboration with the City of Liege, which allows you to test active mobility. There are different prices depending on the type of bike rented and the duration of the rental.
KAMEO Bikes
KAMEO Bikes has launched Test&Ride which allows you to book a free bike test from their catalog. This test takes the form of a ride accompanied by one of their specialists in order to get personalized advice.
The ULiège bike workshop (for staff members only)
The University of Liege lends electrically assisted bicycles to staff members for periods of 4 weeks. To learn more about this action, please contact the mobility cell (sedeplacer@uliege.be).
